Acceptance
Bemused, unsure, I fought.
Not surprised, I failed.
I was hurt.
I was dismayed.
Stood up, fought harder, claimed victory.
But again, I failed.
I was lost.
I was angry.
Frustrated, eyes closed, "Thy will be done," I prayed.
Just the same, I failed.
I was blank.
I was numb.
I ran.
I flew.
I listened.
I smiled.
Finally, a time I can call mine.
It was the moment I stopped trying,
That I had a peace of mind.
Not surprised, I failed.
I was hurt.
I was dismayed.
Stood up, fought harder, claimed victory.
But again, I failed.
I was lost.
I was angry.
Frustrated, eyes closed, "Thy will be done," I prayed.
Just the same, I failed.
I was blank.
I was numb.
I ran.
I flew.
I listened.
I smiled.
Finally, a time I can call mine.
It was the moment I stopped trying,
That I had a peace of mind.
